Players of Cardiff 'afraid to fly' after Emiliano Sala's

Tributes were paid to Sala on Tuesday in Cardiff's 2-1 overcome at Arsenal.

The Argentine forward, 28, and pilot David Ibbotson were ready a light airplane that disappeared from radar over the Channel Islands on 21 January.

"It is extremely hard to try and describe how the players are feeling," Bamba disclosed to Sports Wales.


"It is an exceptionally unusual situation, a major catastrophe.

"We have all been influenced by it, the lads, the city, the entire club.

"We have had some assistance. We travel via plane and some of the lads have been reasoning 'I would prefer not to go on it any longer.'

"It was that profound, the gaffer has been great and the club has been great in terms of getting someone to converse within the event that we have to.

"And I think some about the lads do, they have to get it out. So I think it was great reasoning from the club and the gaffer and ideally in the weeks to come we are going to feel much improved."

Sala's family see search territory off Guernsey

An official search for Sala and Ibbotson, 59, of Crowle, Lincolnshire, was canceled on Thursday.

Sala's family are arranging a private search of the English Channel, paid for by fundraisers.

Botanical tributes were laid at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium where Cardiff played their first diversion since Sala's disappearance.

He was named in the matchday program squad list with a realistic of a daffodil alongside where the previous FC Nantes striker's number would have been.

Bamba said it was a troublesome night for Cardiff's players, however, director Neil Warnock described it as their "best execution of the season".

The protector, who spoke to Sala on the phone to attempt and persuade him to join Cardiff, says Warnock gave the Cardiff players the alternative of missing the Arsenal coordinate.

"Obviously it was extremely passionate for us after what occurred, yet as professionals, we have work to do and obviously we needed to win, however, it wasn't to be," Bamba included.

"I think we required something like this amusement to get going so we can attempt and return to typical. It's been an extremely troublesome week.

"Obviously we needed to do well for Sala. The gaffer has been great and said 'in the event that anybody does not have a craving for playing, they don't need to.'

"He wouldn't hold it against anybody, however, everybody needed to play for him (Sala) and for the club."

Bamba says the last time he spoke with Sala the Argentine said he was eager to join the Bluebirds.

"I knew Emiliano personally as I have an association with him through my operator," he said.

"He went to the club to visit the stadium and preparing the ground and had been conversing with the lads to say hi. So he was unquestionably a piece of us and we sense that we are missing him.

"I spoke to him ahead of the pack up to him signing, he asked me about the club, about the dressing room, is he going to fit into the group, what the gaffer resembles.

"He asked about the city and obviously I just said beneficial things. He was anticipating it.

"In any case, it is not just me thinking that it's troublesome, despite the fact that I had a personal association with him.

"I don't feel more sad than alternate lads, everybody feels sad, the entire club. The entire network is sad, the fans never met him, yet what they improved the situation he was amazing, we will always remember that.

"The search continues and ideally we can discover something great, because for the family especially it must be extremely troublesome."
